How-to
Manage your brands and competitors
Read the Brands page, add and edit brands, track discovered brands, and follow competitor activity.
Brands are the subjects GripIQ measures. Every brand is either an Own brand or a Competitor.
Open the Brands page
Section titled “Open the Brands page”- Select Settings in the navigation rail.
- Open the Brands tab.
The page lists brands in two groups with a count each: Own brands and Competitors. Empty groups read “No own brands yet” or “No competitors yet”. Below them is the Discovered brands list (see Track or dismiss discovered brands).
Each brand card shows the brand’s icon and three counters: websites, social accounts, and posts. Brands your account manager has set to inactive no longer appear in the list or in any figures.
Open a brand’s page
Section titled “Open a brand’s page”- Select a brand card. A summary opens with the brand’s type and its counts of Websites, Social accounts, and Social media posts.
- Select View full details to open the brand’s own page.
What the brand page shows is described in Read a brand’s page.
Add a brand
Section titled “Add a brand”You need the Team Admin role (see Team members). Each brand uses one brand of your plan; see Plans for the limit.
- On the Brands page, select Add brand.
- Enter the Name.
- Choose the Type: Own brand or Competitor.
- Optionally enter the brand’s Website URL. Its sitemap is checked for changes, and social accounts are discovered from it.
- Select Add brand.
A name that another brand in the project already goes by is refused. When you have reached your plan’s limit, GripIQ tells you so and adds nothing.
Edit a brand
Section titled “Edit a brand”You need the Team Admin role.
- Open the brand’s page (see Open a brand’s page).
- Select Edit brand.
- Change the Name, or add other names the brand goes by under Aliases (Add alias, or the remove button beside an alias). Aliases are used to detect mentions of the brand.
- Select Save.
Add or edit a website or social account
Section titled “Add or edit a website or social account”Team Admins see the brand’s Websites and Social accounts cards on the brand page.
- On the brand page, select Add website or Add social account. To change an existing one, select its edit button (Edit website or Edit social account).
- For a website, enter the Website URL. Its sitemap is checked for changes on every scan.
- For a social account, choose the Platform and enter the Profile URL.
- Select Add (or Save when editing).
Posts from a new social account are collected on every scan, once GripIQ has confirmed the profile.
Where social accounts come from
Section titled “Where social accounts come from”Social accounts are also detected automatically from a brand’s website: when a website is added, GripIQ reads the site and picks up the links to social profiles it finds there.
Remove a brand
Section titled “Remove a brand”You cannot remove a brand, website, or social account in the app, because removing one also removes the history collected for it. Contact your account manager via Settings → Subscription.
If your role cannot add or edit brands, the Brands page says: “Your brands are currently managed by GripIQ. Contact your account manager”.
Track or dismiss discovered brands
Section titled “Track or dismiss discovered brands”Discovered brands (marked Beta) are brands that AI answers and search results keep surfacing, but that you do not track yet. The list is updated every week; until the first run it reads “Discovered brands are qualified every week. The first results appear after the next run.”
Each card shows how many AI answers and search results mention the brand. With the Team Member or Team Admin role you can act on a card:
- Track — adds the brand as a competitor from now on. It uses one brand of your plan; hover the button to see how many brands you have left. Earlier results are not analysed again. When you have reached your limit, the button is disabled.
- Dismiss — removes the brand from the list. It will not be suggested again.
Follow competitor activity
Section titled “Follow competitor activity”- Select Competitors in the navigation rail.
- Use the filters to narrow the feed: date range, Type (All, Website, Social media), brands, Platform, and the sort dropdown (Newest or Most engaging).
The feed mixes website changes and social posts, and loads more items as you scroll. Select a website change to see the list of new, modified, and removed pages — see Follow website changes.
