Socials metrics

How each card on the Socials overview is calculated.

Every Socials number is built on the engagement score of each post. All cards respect the brand, platform and date-range filters, and count posts by the date they were published.

The number of posts published in the date range by all monitored brands.

The sum of engagement scores over those posts. Because views count at one tenth and shares at five, this is a weighted score, not a raw count of interactions.

average = total engagement / total posts

rounded to a whole number.

Example: 12,000 engagement over 40 posts → 300.

Your own brands’ share of engagement:

share of voice = engagement of own brands / engagement of all monitored brands × 100

Example: your brands earn 4,700 of a total 12,000 → 39.2%.

The Share of Voice chart shows every brand’s slice of the same total, with its post count, average engagement and average sentiment.

A grid of brands against months, for the ten most active brands over the last twelve months. The cell shade is posts that month / the busiest cell in the grid. Per brand:

posts per month = posts shown / months shown since the brand was first tracked

rounded to one decimal. A brand counts as tracked from the earlier of two months: the month its first social account was added, and the first month on the grid in which it posted. Months before that are shown but do not lower the average; a month since then without posts counts as zero.

Example: the grid shows twelve months. A brand with an account for all twelve and 36 posts → 3.0 per month. A brand added three months ago with 12 posts in those three months → 4.0 per month, not 1.0. Click a cell to see that month’s posts, most engaging first.

Per platform: the number of posts, the total engagement, and the average per post (total engagement / posts).

The average engagement score per media type: Image, Video, Carousel, Link, Other. Formats are sorted from highest to lowest average. TikTok and YouTube posts always count as video.

Each analysed post is assigned one pillar: Educational, Inspirational, Promotional, Community building or Behind the scenes.

  • Content pillars shows posts with the pillar / analysed posts × 100. Posts that have not been analysed yet are left out of the total.
  • Pillar mix by brand shows the same split for the eight brands with the most analysed posts.

Every post matching the filters, most engaging first, twenty per page. The Engagement column is the post’s engagement score.
