Web reference

Web filters, change table columns, change page fields, sitemap statuses, content categories, what counts as a change, schedule, and how websites are added.

Filter Options Default
Period Last 7 days, Last 30 days, Last 90 days, Last 6 months, Last year, All time, Custom Last 30 days
Brands Any active brand in the project; several at once All brands
Category The content categories; several at once. A change without a summary has no category yet and is left out while a category is selected None selected

Clear all resets every filter to its default; it appears only when a filter is set. The Category filter does not apply to the Page count chart.

Block Shows
Publishing activity The number of website changes in the period, with the movement against the previous period of the same length, plus Content mix and Most active
Pages added, Pages removed, Pages modified Page totals across all changes in the period, with the movement against the previous period and the number of brands involved
Brands crawling How many brands have at least one website that is being checked, for example “3 of 4”; names a brand whose sitemap is failing
Page count Pages in each brand’s sitemap over the period, one line per brand
Change cadence Website changes per brand per week; at most the last 8 weeks of the period
Website changes The change table, newest first; 20 rows load at a time as you scroll

The first sitemap snapshot of a newly followed website is left out of Publishing activity, the stat bar, and Content mix, because it counts every page as added. It does appear in the change table.

Column Meaning
Brand The brand whose website changed
What changed The summary of the change, linked to its change page. Reads “Summary is still being written.” until the summary is ready
Categories The content categories of the change; shown on wide screens only
+ / − / ~ Pages added, removed, and modified
Detected How long ago the change was found

Each website change has its own page, opened from What changed. Back to Web returns to the overview.

Field Meaning
Title “Brand — website change”
Detected Date and time of the scan that found the change
Website The website’s domain, linked to the site
Previous snapshot Date and time of the scan the change is compared with; absent on a first snapshot
Category badges The content categories of the change
Pages in sitemap Pages in the sitemap after the change, with the number gained or lost against the previous snapshot
Readout One sentence with the added, removed, and modified counts since the previous snapshot
What changed The summary, marked “AI summary generated from the URL changes”
Page count The page count of this snapshot and up to 12 earlier ones, with the count before and after. Shows “First snapshot of this website” when there is no earlier snapshot
URLs added Pages new since the last snapshot
URLs removed Pages no longer in the sitemap
URLs modified Pages whose last-modified date changed
Linked insights The number of published insights that came from this change
Added, Removed, Modified One card per group with its total and its first 20 pages. A group with no pages reads “None in this change.”
Download the full list Downloads the whole group as a CSV file with the columns URL and Last modified. Shown when a group holds more than 20 pages, for Team Members and Team Admins
Insight cards Each linked insight with its channel, priority, and Open insight

Each website followed for a brand has a status. The status itself is shown to your account manager, not in the app; the Brands crawling cell on the Web overview names a brand whose sitemap is failing. Ask your account manager if a website seems to report no changes.

Status Meaning for you
Waiting The website is queued; it has not been checked yet
Active The sitemap was found and is being checked on schedule
Not found No sitemap could be found on the site. Nothing is collected. Ask your account manager to check the address
Error The last check failed or could not be used — for example, the site was unreachable, or it regenerates its whole sitemap at once, which would otherwise report every page as changed. The next scheduled check tries again

A website your account manager deactivates is no longer checked, and its changes no longer appear in the app.

Category Covers
Offerings Products and services
Insights Blog, knowledge, and research pages
Corporate Company information, news, and about pages
People & Support Careers, HR, and customer support
Compliance Legal, privacy, and terms

A single change entry can carry more than one category.

Each check compares the current list of pages with the previous one and produces three groups:

Counter Meaning
+N added Pages that were not in the previous list
−N removed Pages that are no longer listed
~N modified Pages that are still listed but were marked as changed

The website change card in the Competitors feed shows how much of the website a change touched, for example “231 of 1,840 pages changed · 13%”.

  • Changed pages are the added, modified, and removed pages together.
  • The total is every page that was on the site before or after the change: the pages in the current sitemap plus the pages that were removed. Removed pages count toward the total, so removing 400 of 1,000 pages reads as 40%, not as 400 of the 600 pages that are left.
share = changed pages ÷ (pages in the current sitemap + removed pages)

The percentage is rounded to a whole number. A share above zero but below 1% reads “<1%”. The first snapshot of a newly followed website shows no bar and no percentage: it has no earlier list to compare with, so every page counts as added.

The window that opens from a website change card on the dashboard or in the Competitors feed lists the pages per group (New, Modified, Removed), most recently updated first. It shows at most 1,000 pages per group: the most recently updated ones. The tab counts always show the full numbers. The date dropdown lists the scans of that website from the last 30 days.

  • No page was added, removed, or modified since the last check. The check ran; there is simply nothing to report.
  • No sitemap was found. The status becomes Not found and nothing further happens.
  • The whole sitemap appears to have been regenerated. The website is flagged Error and no summary is written, because the comparison would be meaningless.
  • The sitemap could not be read completely, for example because the site was unreachable or the check ran out of time. The website is flagged Error and no change is recorded, so pages are not reported as removed. The next scheduled check tries again.
  • The sitemap is larger than GripIQ reads in full, for example more than 100,000 pages or more than 500 sitemap files. The website is flagged Error, and the scheduled checks skip it for about a week before they try again, so no website changes appear for that brand in that time. Ask your account manager if a website stays quiet.

When there are changes, GripIQ writes a short summary in your project’s language and assigns the content categories. Until a change has a summary, the Web overview and the change page read “Summary is still being written.”, the card in the Competitors feed falls back to “Snapshot captured” plus the number of pages indexed, and the dashboard timeline shows “:brand website updated”.

Websites are checked on the project scan schedule: Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Disabled.

The Competitors feed lists website changes next to social posts.

Filter Options
Brands Any brand in the project
Date range Defaults to the last 30 days
Type All, Website, Social media
Platform Social platforms; cleared when Type is Website
Sort Newest, Most engaging — a dropdown with a sort icon; its trigger shows the active option

The feed loads 15 items at a time as you scroll.

The Websites card on a brand’s page lists each website followed for that brand. A website shows its page title above its address once it has been checked; a website that has never been checked shows only its address.

There is no plan quota for websites. The number of brands your project may have is set by your plan — see Plans.

A Team Admin adds and edits websites on a brand’s page with Add website and Edit website; see Add or edit a website or social account. A brand in the project can hold a given website only once. Removing a website is done by your account manager; contact them via Settings → Subscription. Adding a website also starts the search for that brand’s social accounts — see Add or change social accounts.
