How-to
Track rankings and share of voice
Read the Keywords overview: your SERP Share of Voice, the stat bar, position trend, search intent performance, competitor gap, and the leaderboard.
The Overview tab of Keywords shows how your tracked keywords perform against your competitors.
Set the filters
Section titled “Set the filters”- Open Keywords → Overview.
- Choose a date range. The default is the last month.
- Narrow the set with Regions, Search intent, Brand, and Tags.
Every section below follows these filters. The line at the right of the filter bar, Data as of … · next scan …, tells you how old the data is and when the next scan runs.
Read your share of voice
Section titled “Read your share of voice”The top of the page shows your SERP Share of Voice for the selected period: your effective share of the clicks available across all tracked keywords, weighted by search volume and position. Next to the figure you see the change against the previous period.
The sentence below the figure puts it in context. It tells you who leads and with what share across your tracked keywords, and your average position — or that you are not ranking in any of them yet.
- Share of voice — each brand’s share of the available clicks. The visible slices add up to 100%.
- Leaderboard — the brands ranked by that share. Select All brands to jump to the full leaderboard at the bottom of the page.
Select Open strategy to go to the opportunity matrix.
Read the stat bar
Section titled “Read the stat bar”- Keywords tracked — how many keywords are in the filtered set, across all regions.
- Monthly search volume — the combined average monthly searches for those keywords.
- Branded share — the share of that volume coming from keywords containing your brand name, with the non-branded share underneath.
- Annual commercial value — the estimated yearly value of the traffic your current positions earn. When there is room to grow, the line underneath shows the potential upside per year.
Read the cards
Section titled “Read the cards”- Position trend — visibility per brand over time, weighted by search volume and position. It captures both rank changes and the weight of the keywords that move.
- Search intent performance — how you perform across the intent funnel, so you can see where demand sits versus where you actually show up. Each intent shows your appearances and your average position. Until your keywords have been classified by intent, the card says it is waiting for that classification.
- Competitor gap — keywords competitors rank for in the top 20 while you do not, sorted by an opportunity score. Each row shows the Volume, CPC, Top competitors, and Opportunity; select a row to open that keyword. If you have no competitor brands, the card asks you to add them.
- SERP visibility leaderboard — brands ranked by visibility weighted by search volume and the click-through rate of each position. It shows who captures clicks, not just who appears. Each row shows the brand’s Appearances, Share, Avg position, and Delta against the previous period.
Interpret the numbers
Section titled “Interpret the numbers”A good average position with a low share of voice usually means you rank well on low-volume terms. Read the leaderboard together with Annual commercial value to see whether your best positions are also your most valuable ones.
