How-to

Team members, roles, and your account manager

See who has access to your project, what each role can do, and how a Team Admin invites people and changes roles.

Everyone with access to a project has a role that decides what they can change. A Team Admin manages the team at Settings → Team members. Everyone can see the team on the Subscription page, together with the person at GripIQ who manages your account.

A project member has one of three roles: Team Admin, Team Member, or Contributor. Whoever requested the project starts as its Team Admin, and colleagues who join later start as Team Member. Contributor is the most restricted role: nobody gets it automatically, and only a Team Admin can give it to someone. Every role sees every page. The roles differ in what you can change:

A role applies to every project you belong to, not just the one you have open. If you are a member of two projects, you have the same role in both.

When a control is missing for you, your role does not include it. Ask a Team Admin of your project or your account manager to change your role.

Everyone can see the team:

  1. Select Settings in the navigation rail.
  2. Open the Subscription tab.
  3. Scroll to the Team members card, “People with access to this project”.

The card shows a “used / max” badge against your plan’s limit, and one row per member with their avatar, name, and email address. A green dot means the person was active in the last 15 minutes; a grey dot means they were not. If nobody is listed you see “No team members”.

The team-member quota counts people outside GripIQ only. GripIQ staff do not take a seat and are not shown on this card. For the limit on your plan, see Plans.

If you are a Team Admin, Settings has an extra tab, Team members. Other roles do not see it.

  1. Select Settings in the navigation rail.
  2. Open the Team members tab.

The table lists the members of your team with their name, email address, and Role. GripIQ staff are not listed and do not use a seat. The badge next to the heading shows how many seats are used against your plan’s limit.

  1. Select Invite people.
  2. Under Email addresses, one per line, enter one address per line. Invite at most 50 people at once.
  3. Select Send invites.

“New people join as Team Member. Change their role once they appear in the list.” Someone who already has a GripIQ account keeps the role they have, because a role applies to all their projects.

The invite counts against your team-member quota. If the whole list does not fit in the seats you have left, nobody is added and a message tells you how many seats remain. Addresses of people who are already members, and addresses that sign in with Microsoft, are skipped. If every address was skipped, you see “Nobody was added — those addresses are already members or sign in with Microsoft.”

New members receive an email titled “You’ve been added to {project}” with a Go to project button. People who do not have an account yet also receive a “Welcome to GripIQ” email with a Set up your account button.

  1. On the member’s row, open the Role dropdown.
  2. Choose Team Admin, Team Member, or Contributor.

The change applies straight away, to every project the person belongs to. Choose Contributor only for someone who should not delete in bulk, manage tags, generate content with AI, add personas, track discovered brands, export data, or change an insight’s status.

Some rows show the role as a badge instead of a dropdown. Hover over the badge to see why:

  • Your own row — “You cannot change your own role or remove yourself from the project.”
  • Someone who also belongs to projects you are not a member of — the role applies to all of them, so you cannot change it here.
  • GripIQ staff — “This person is managed by your account team and cannot be changed here.”
  1. On the member’s row, select the bin icon, Remove from project.
  2. Confirm. “They lose access to this project. Their account and any other projects stay untouched.”

You cannot remove yourself or GripIQ staff.

The Your account manager card on the Subscription page shows their avatar, name, a presence dot, and a mail link. Use it for anything you cannot change yourself: project settings, changing or removing personas, removing brands, websites, or social accounts, and your plan. A Team Admin manages the team; contact your account manager about team members and roles only if nobody on your team is a Team Admin, or for a role you cannot change yourself, such as your own.
