How-to

Read a website change

Open one website change, see which pages were added, removed, or modified, download the full lists, and open the linked insights.

Each website change has its own page. It shows what one scan of a brand’s sitemap found compared with the scan before it: the pages added, removed, and modified, and the insights that came from the change.

  1. Open Web in the navigation rail.
  2. In the table of website changes, click the summary of the change you want. While the summary is not ready, the row reads “Summary is still being written.”; you can click that text too.

The page title reads “Brand — website change”. To go back, click Back to Web.

Below the title you see:

  • Detected with the date and time of the scan that found the change.
  • The website’s domain. Click it to open the website in a new tab.
  • Previous snapshot with the date of the scan it is compared with. This line is missing for the first sitemap snapshot of a website.
  • The content category badges of the change.

The large figure, Pages in sitemap, is the number of pages in the sitemap after the change. Next to it you see how many pages the site gained or lost since the previous snapshot. A sentence under the figure sums up the change, for example “Added 12, removed 3 and modified 40 pages since the snapshot of …”. For the first snapshot of a website it reads “The first snapshot of this website: N pages found.” Click See the URLs to jump to the page lists.

  • What changed holds the AI summary of the change, marked “AI summary generated from the URL changes”.
  • Page count shows the number of pages in this website’s sitemap over its recent snapshots (when there is more than one), with the count before and after this change. For a first snapshot it reads “First snapshot of this website”.

The row of figures below repeats the counts: URLs added (new since the last snapshot), URLs removed, URLs modified (pages whose last-modified date changed), and Linked insights.

Three cards list the pages per group: Added, Removed, and Modified. Each card shows the total for its group in the top-right corner.

  1. Read the addresses in a card. Each line shows the part of the address after the domain; hover over it to see the full address.
  2. Click an address to open that page in a new tab.

A card with no pages reads “None in this change.”

A card lists at most 20 pages. When a group holds more, a note under the list reads “Showing 20 of N”.

When a card lists only part of its group, the note under the list ends in Download the full list.

  1. Click Download the full list on the card you want.

You get a CSV file with two columns, URL and Last modified, for every page in that group. When GripIQ could only keep part of a very large group, the file name ends in “partial-shown-of-total” so you can see that the file is not complete.

The download link is shown to the Team Member and Team Admin roles, not to Contributor. Without it, the note only states how many pages are shown.

Below the page lists, one card appears for each published insight that came from this change. Each card shows the insight’s channel and priority badges and its title.

  1. Click Open insight on the card. The insight opens on the Insights page.
