How-to
Read a keyword's detail page
Check one keyword's position, live search results, volume history, and related keywords.
Open Keywords → Keywords and click a keyword to see everything GripIQ knows about that term.
The page reads, from top to bottom: the header, your position, the KPI strip, the full SERP, and then monthly search volume beside related keywords. Figures that depend on a period cover the last 30 days.
Header
Section titled “Header”The keyword itself is the page title, with Back to keywords above it and an Active or Inactive badge beside it. Badges below show the source, the region, the AI classification (search intent, term length, brand status, and sentiment), and the linked persona. The keyword’s tags appear underneath.
Your best position
Section titled “Your best position”The top card shows Your best position: the highest rank your domain holds in the most recent scan, with how many places it has moved over the period. A sentence underneath puts the number in context, for example “You rank #4 for this keyword — [brand] holds #1.” Your best position is in one of three states:
| State | What the card says |
|---|---|
| Ranked | Your position, and which brand holds #1 — or that you hold #1 yourself |
| Not ranking | The keyword was scanned and your domain was not found: “You do not rank for this keyword yet”, with the brand that holds #1 where known |
| No scan data | No scan has completed yet: “No completed SERP scan for this keyword yet — your position fills in after the next one.” |
Beside the number, two panels give the detail:
- Position trend — how each brand’s position for this keyword has moved over the period. A downward line is good news, because a lower number is a better rank.
- SERP snapshot — the top five organic results of the most recent scan, with the scan date. Your own row is marked Own.
View the full SERP jumps to the full results further down the page.
KPI strip
Section titled “KPI strip”- Monthly search volume — average searches per month for this term.
- CPC — the average cost an advertiser pays for a click. It is a proxy for commercial intent. When bid data is available, the subtitle shows the range of top-of-page bids.
- SERP appearances — how often your brand appeared in the captured results over the period.
- Annual commercial value — what the keyword is worth to you per year, depending on the position state:
- Ranked — the estimated yearly value of the traffic your current position earns, with the potential at #1 as context.
- Not ranking — the potential yearly value at position 1, labelled potential at #1 — not ranking yet so it is not mistaken for value you already earn. Where bid data exists, the subtitle estimates the monthly ads budget you would need to buy the same traffic.
- No scan data — a dash. Without a scan, GripIQ claims no opportunity.
See Keywords metrics for how each figure is calculated.
Live SERP top-10
Section titled “Live SERP top-10”This card shows the full results page of a scan, in the order it appeared:
- Sponsored — top of page
- Organic results — the top ten
- Sponsored — bottom of page
Use the in-card filter to switch between All, Organic, and Ads; it appears only when both types exist. The card also reports Ads above your result and badges your own row Yours.
To compare with an earlier scan, use the snapshot selector. It lists the scans from the last 30 days and starts on the most recent one, marked Latest. When you pick an earlier scan, the sentence under Your best position no longer names the brand at #1, because your position always comes from the most recent scan.
If no scan has run yet, the card says “SERP scan pending — comes back in the next scan window.”
Monthly search volume
Section titled “Monthly search volume”The last twelve months of volume, so you can spot seasonality and one-off spikes. Until volume data arrives, the card shows “No monthly volume data yet.”
Related keywords
Section titled “Related keywords”Suggestions for keywords adjacent to this one. Each row shows the keyword with its volume, CPC, and difficulty where known, plus a Track button. Tracking one adds it to your keyword list — see Add and manage keywords.
The card can be empty for two reasons:
| Message | Meaning |
|---|---|
| “No related keywords returned.” | Suggestions were fetched, but no adjacent terms were found. The card suggests trying a broader seed keyword. |
| “Related keywords aren’t available for this language and market.” | The search data does not cover the project’s language in this keyword’s region, for example English in Belgium. The card adds: “Our keyword data only covers certain languages per market. Change the project’s language or market to see suggestions.” Your account manager can change the project’s language or market. |
Suggestions stored before the project’s language or market changed stay visible.
